At Heartwood, play is not just part of the curriculum — it is the curriculum. Through unstructured time in nature, children discover who they are and what they're capable of.
Our Programs
Heartwood welcomes explorers ages 4 and up, located in the greater Ridgewood area. In our multi-age group, children naturally become both mentors and learners — pursuing knowledge and growth alongside one another yet at their own pace.
Programs run three hours, two days a week, with the option to enroll in one or both days.
Our Guides
Michelle and Kristen met as parent and guide and stayed as collaborators. Together they bring empathy, attentiveness, and wonder to each season. Alongside their explorers true magic is made.
